This new strategy for the tourism industry has its roots in a series of industry, stakeholder and community consultations conducted in 2007 and 2011. The message emerging from those consultations was clear: a successful tourism sector must be built on a foundation of quality tourism products and services, supported by training and education, resources for marketing and promotion, and a supportive, effective framework of legislation and regulation.
