The Nunavut Economic Developers Association is pleased to announce that Hal Timar has been hired as the Executive Director to replace Mark Morrissey who will be leaving the organization at the end of February.
Hal is no stranger to the North, having worked as the Executive Director of the Baffin Regional Chamber of Commerce (BRCC) for 8 years. He brings with him extensive experience in economic and business development spanning 25 years. After obtaining a BA in Business Administration and Enterprise Development he went to work in the development of business plans for a wide range of ventures, predominantly within the hospitality and retail industries.
He also has extensive management experience in several types of retail businesses, the hospitality industry and other areas. His varied experience ranges from 8+ years with BRCC to consulting on international projects to managing and owning several businesses.
For 11 years total, he has called Nunavut home because he feels it is one fo the few places where one person can still make a difference.
